Two FDNY firefighters were among five people injured during a three-alarm apartment fire in Brooklyn early Monday.
The fire broke out shortly before 4:30 a.m. on the second floor of an apartment building in the East Flatbush neighborhood, WPIX-TV reports. Flames erupted on the building's second floor and spread to the third.
Nearly 140 firefighters from 33 units responded to the call. They worked for around two hours to get the fire under control, according to the New York Post.
Two firefighters were injured, and they were being evaluated at the scene, the Post added. Two civilians also were treated at the scene, and another was taken to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
